Ex Gracia is a Blue Mountains-based women's community choir. We sing music from across the decades and the centuries in 3- and 4-part harmony. We perform regular concerts and carols, community and charity events. You can support us by coming to one of our concerts or booking us to sing at your event.
The choir formed in 2010 from a group of women and girls who’d met and performed together as the nuns’ chorus in a Blue Mountains Musical Society production of “The Sound of Music”. Following this, the ladies found they simply couldn’t bear the thought of carrying on their lives without singing together any more, and so Ex Gracia was formed, with the name – ‘from grace’ in Latin – serving as a reminder of their origins.
The group now comprises women from the Mountains, Hawkesbury and Greater Western Sydney, who have over the years sung at private functions, at festivals, benefit concerts and community events, ending each year with a series of Christmas carol performances, both commercial and community-based.
We are a non-audition group. The only membership requirements are:
a) a female/treble voice b) a love of singing.
Although, it also helps to have:
c) an open mind to diverse musical genres.
